CustomerLink adds Superior call center

CustomerLink LLC, a customer service and sales call center solutions company, has launched an additional call center location in Superior. The new facility features cutting-edge call center technology and more than 100 fully-enabled agent workstations. The expansion will allow the creation of more than 100 new jobs in the Twin Ports area.

The new facility’s 100-plus seats will enable CustomerLink to handle an additional 250,000 calls per month, nearly doubling CustomerLink’s capacity. The expansion is more than just good news — it comes not a minute too soon, according to CustomerLink’s Director of Business Development, Jane Fitzpatrick. “CustomerLink is at maximum capacity,” she says. “We are literally in a situation where we will either have to scale back the plans of our clients, or turn work away if we don’t do something. It’s definitely the right kind of problem and we’re thrilled to have found such a perfect solution.”

CustomerLink’s new facility, located in the Blaine Business Center, will leverage the existing infrastructure left by Superior call center, W.S. Live — the former Advanced Data-Comm. Both the location and the legacy are key, says Perry Flemmen, CustomerLink CEO.

“We feel this will further enhance our commitment to the local economy, retaining the professional opportunities for the skilled employees of the Twin Ports, and building more and better opportunities for the future,” he says. “Our goal is to create sustainable and reliable employment — to provide our clients with the best range of resources while developing the local economy and creating a significant number of jobs. We want to continue to make a measurable impact.”

BUSINESS BRIEFS

EAU CLAIRE: The Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce has recently approved a new Business Hall of Fame. Inductees can be recognized in one of two categories: The Business Hall of Fame for nominees from the current year to previous 50 years and the Historical Business Hall of Fame for companies doing business prior to the last 50 years. The first inductees are expected to be announced this month. >> John Menard of Menards was the top-ranked Wisconsinite on the annual Forbes magazine list of world billionaires released in March. A total of nine state residents were included on the list.

RIVER FALLS: NCCM Company has purchased the leading technological solution for the mill roll business from 3M Company, which has agreed to a long-term, exclusive sourcing and licensing arrangement with NCCM. 3M will continue to manufacture the raw materials for the mill rolls, which are used in industrial wringer, oiler, tension/bridle and support roll applications on continuous coil lines and sheet processing lines.

SUPERIOR: Shipping traffic on the Great Lakes is expected to be down this year, with many ships staying in port until needed. Though the shipping season officially started in late March with the opening of the Soo Locks, the St. Lawrence Seaway will also be opening nine days later than last year. Duluth Seaway Port Authority Trade Development Director Ron Johnson told the Superior Leader-Telegram that “it’s a sign of the times.”
