Burger Boat partnership with designer seeks new level in yacht amenities
Burger Boat Co., the Manitowoc-based, custom yacht builder, has added a dimension to its relationship with Setzer Design Group of Cary, North Carolina. Ward Setzer and his team are designing a futuristic vessel based on the Setzer “Vision Line.” The 185-ft. Specter is a streamlined expression of Setzer’s vision of the future and one that is said to complement Burger’s classic yacht styling.
Joining to provide potential buyers with new and futuristic concepts in the yachting industry, this design offers possible amenities such as a large theater, gym with spa, observation rooms and two galley areas. A large helicopter deck can be incorporated to extend above the sun deck while a cabana can be located aft with dock doors that deploy port and starboard.
The 185’ Specter offers up to five cabins below, each with oversized port lights. The elaborate owner’s suite would include recessed hull-side balconies providing additional living space and private outside retreats. Accommodations for a crew of 12 would be situated forward.
As a custom yacht builder, Burger says it recognizes the importance of new innovative designs and technologies to incorporate into the yachts of tomorrow. The company believes Specter speaks of the future while respecting both Burger and Setzer’s long histories of top-tier yacht design and construction. This alliance between the two companies aims to demonstrate the strengths of both while advancing the state of yachting.
Forget stereotypes, agency to prove it’s ‘Better by the Bay’
Advertising and design firm Arketype, Inc. is out to prove that Green Bay is more than cheeseheads, brats, and frozen tundra. The agency is working to replace such iconic images with a more rounded representation of what life and commerce are really like in Titletown USA.
That’s the idea behind “Better by the Bay,” a new Greater Green Bay branding and marketing initiative.
Entirely economics driven, the new branding effort targets workforce development and the recruitment of new residents and new businesses to the area while reinforcing community pride. The campaign’s messages reflect the area’s work/play/life balance using a variety of marketing mediums including TV spots, print ads, online ads, networking, video, and a Web site, www.betterbythebay.com.
While such campaigns are not uncommon, this one has an unusual genesis.
Not only is Arketype the creative force behind the economic-based campaign, but in a complete reversal, its President Jim Rivett is also the catalyst. He and his agency are responsible for rallying area municipalities, local businesses, and even the town’s famous football team, the Green Bay Packers, in support of launching the branding initiative.
The need to brand Green Bay first occurred to Rivett’s firm five years ago when it experienced resistance recruiting outside talent to the area. “Everyone we talked to agreed that the greater Green Bay area deserved a well-researched, well-thought-out brand that would authentically reflect what living and working here is really like,” says Rivett. “There are more great reasons to live here than just great football.”
